
Recruitment circular has been issued within four months for the post of Trainee Recruit Constable (TRC) in Bangladesh Police Force. 4,000 new constables will be recruited from 64 districts. Among them 3,400 are males and 600 are females. The recruitment examination for the post of constable has been modernized with the aim of building a police force suitable for developed Bangladesh. Under the new rules, eligible candidates will be selected following seven steps for appointment as constables.

Eligibility of application
Must be a permanent citizen of Bangladesh and unmarried to apply. Candidates must be between 18 and 20 years of age on 28 February 2022. Candidate must have passed SSC or equivalent examination. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Physical fitness
In case of general and other quotas, the height of male candidate should be 5 feet 6 inches. 5 feet 4 inches in case of quota for small ethnic groups and freedom fighters (except children of freedom fighters). The height of female candidates should be 5 feet 4 inches in case of general and other quotas. 5 feet 2 inches in case of small ethnic group and freedom fighter quota. The chest size of male candidates is 31 inches in normal condition and 33 inches in extended condition in case of general and other quotas. In case of Muktijoddha quota 30 inches in normal condition and 31 inches in extended condition.

Interested candidates need to apply online through the website police.teletalk.com.bd. This website has video tutorials and instructions on how to fill out the application form.
At the time of application
The application for the post of constable has started from 10 am last Tuesday. Applications can be submitted throughout the month of February. Application deadline is February 26, 11:59 p.m.
Candidate selection in seven steps
● Webbased Preliminary Screening: Candidates applying online will be selected for the next step through webbased preliminary screening as per prescribed recruitment rules. Selected candidates will be given a user ID and password to participate in the next step on their mobile number. Using it, you have to collect the physical size, document verification and admission test for the physical tolerance test from the police website.
Physical Size, Document Verification and Physical Tolerance Test: Candidates who have passed the webbased preliminary screening stage will have to appear for the physical size, paper verification and physical tolerance test on the date, time and place mentioned in the notification. In this step, the eligibility of the candidate will be verified for a total of three days. After entering the venue on the first day, the candidate’s height, weight and chest size and documents will be checked and selected. Then in two days the candidate has to participate in seven events. On the second day, there will be four events: 200 meter run, push up, long jump and high jump. On the third day there will be three events 1600 meters running, dragging and rope climbing.
● Written Examination: On the date mentioned in the notification, a total of 45 written examinations on Bengali, English, General Mathematics and General Science have to be participated.
Psychological and Oral Examination: Candidates who have passed the written examination are required to participate in the Psychological and Oral Examination No. 15 on the date mentioned in the notification.
● Preliminary Selection: Candidates will be initially selected on merit basis on the basis of marks obtained in written, psychological and oral examinations following district based vacancies and existing quota system.
● Health Examination and Police Verification: Initially selected candidates have to participate in the health examination. The test will be taken at the Central Police Hospital in the capital’s Rajarbagh. Participate in pathological investigations with physical examination information. Eligible candidates for the health examination will have to fill up a police verification form. If the police verification is satisfactory, they will be nominated for training. However, if the information in the verification is confidential or false, the candidate will be considered ineligible.
Final inclusion in the training: After the candidates initially selected for the training join the training center, their selection and other information will be re-verified by a re-selection committee consisting of a representative of the Police Headquarters. After verification and selection of this information, the candidate will be included in the final training. As a trainee recruit constable in the designated training center, one has to participate in basic training for a period of six months.
Salary and benefits
Upon successful completion of the training, 16th grade (9000-21,600) will be recruited as a constable of Bangladesh Police. Must have been an apprentice for two years. Upon completion of satisfactory service for two years from the date of declaration of apprenticeship, the post of Constable will be made permanent. According to the rules of the police force, there is an opportunity to go to the UN peacekeeping mission with promotion to a higher post.
Preparation is helpful
AIG of Police Headquarters (Multimedia and Publicity) said. Kamruzzaman told Prothom Alo that through the last notification, 3,000 constables have been appointed by selecting candidates in seven steps under the new rules. Four thousand constables will be appointed by selecting candidates under the new rules. A video has been uploaded on the verified Facebook page, YouTube channel and website (www.police.gov.bd) of Bangladesh Police regarding the new rules for recruitment of constables.
